Brady, Fullblooded Cowboy, Artist
Born Brad Holt to an artistic mother in 1950, and know artistically as Brady, Fullblooded Cowboy, Brady has had no formal training in arts and crafts. He has, though become very comfortable and proficient with the "tools of the trade". Since 1959, he has been crafting with an intuitive "how-to" and feel for the art within a piece of wood. "Unknown to me where the tempest is, but most times I'm driven like a captured angst of tearing wind."

Aneleina E, Artist
Aneleina E (aka Ann Elsasser) was born in the Azores, Portugal. She started to paint in 1968 and continues to do so today. She currently lives in the California Desert Town of Yucca Valley, and finds the surroundings inspirational as her subjects. She is proficient inoils and watercolor. She is a member of the 29 Palms Gallery, Art Colony in Morongo Valley and Chaparral Artists.

JOYCE ECKERSALL, ARTIST
Joyce has always had an eye for design. Her high school teachers encouraged her in her talents. She painted children from around the world for the first United Nations exhibit in San Francisco and did some silk-screening in the 1950s. After raising six daughters and retiring from the accounting field, she has blossomed and works in many mediums, favoring pastels, water-based oils and stained glass. Located in the High Desert community of 29 Palms, she has the opportunity to explore many new techniques and mediums.

Guila Gilmore, Artist
Guila Guilmore has always loved to draw and paint. She has used all media although her favorite is watercolor. She has taken college classes in drawing, oil, watercolor and acrylic. She is presently president of Cahparral Artists in Joshua Tree, California.

SHEILA GOODWIN, ARTIST
Sheila was born in Ontario, Canada, and moved to Southern California as a bride in 1957 and started painting in oils in the 1960s. When her children started high school, she wnt back to work and was a flower designer for 13 years. She retired from that when her grandchildren were born in order to have the time to enjoy them. She continued to paint and took up clay sculpture. She has been creating stained glass works of art for the last five years.

RICHARD HUNTER, ARTIST
Richard has been painting since junior high school, where he sold his paintings to his teachers. A sample of his work is hanging in the Board of Education building in Los Angeles, California. Trained by German Professor Heinz Rosien of the University of Munich in abstracts and palette knife, he went on to design school taking many courses including cartooning.
He worked in the first space program drafting and illustrating parts of the space capsule. He then embarked upon a 30 year career with Sears for whom he designed floor plans for new stores and remodeling older stores. He also laid out the merchandising and fixture plans and worked with the contractors to see that the plans were properly implemented.
His paintings are done in acrylic and watercolor and he uses a unique medium of canned milk to obtain the unique coloring and textures in his paintings. A multi-talented artist, he also works in pen and ink, sculpture, woodcarving and stained glass. He has won many awards for his paintings and other works of art.
An experienced teacher, he has given classes in painting and stained glass in both Canada and the High Desert and now offers private lessons.

Shirley James, Artist
Although Shirley received Certificates in Fashion Design and Commercial Art, she could not always follow her artistic passions. She recently retired as an Employment Counselor and is now indulging her passions and has become fully immersed in her art. She has worked as an interior decorator and assistant art instructor in Southern California, designing furniture and home accessories. She explores and relishes the energy of California landscapes and in all its infinite variety and beauty. The passion grows with each painting.

Anne Lear, Artist
Anne Lear taught in Elementary school before teaching Art and Biology in high school. Her last twenty-five years were spent teaching Art to Junior High students. She retired in 29 Palms, California and paints in her Indian Cove studio. Extra time is spent as a volunteer at the 29 Palms Art Gallery.
Anne has a Masters Degree in Art from Notre Dame University and enjoys working in a variety of materials such as oils, watercolors, pastels, gouache, acrylics and collage. Sister Corita, I.H.M, first introduced collaging to Anne at Immaculate Heart College. Recent years have found Anne returning to this creative material. The collages shown on this web site are made from torn or cut magazines and coated with polymer to prevent fading. No paint has been added.

Gabrielle von Kahrs
Gabrielle was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and arrived in Hollywood with her parents when she was seven. At thirteen, she had a scholarship to the prestigious Otis Art Institute. As an adult, she lived for 20 years on an antique sailboat with her husband and cat.
Gabrielle was a photo stylist and did work with such firms as Cole of California, Catalina Swimsuits, Robinson's-May, Sears, US Steel, Schwinn, Revlon, Max Factor, Cadillac, Toyota, hot Wheels, Farmer John and Macy's. She painted the eyes of the first Barbie dolls and was the fashion editor of Teen magazine.
She moved to Yucca Valley in 1998 with her husband and cat and started painting in 2000. She is now a widow, but she still lives with her cat.
